If you missed the very thoughtful Sean Means review in Sunday’s Tribune you can see what he and other critics are saying by googling The Aristocrats or visiting the official website at www.thearistocrats.com. WARNING: THIS FILM IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. IT IS SO FOUL IT IS NOT EVEN RATED — what it does brilliantly is explore the art of improvisation and give you a locker room view of comedians who are performing for each other versus an audience by dissecting and reinventing the oldest dirtiest joke since the burlesque days of traveling comedy. It also makes us ask ourselves what it is about humans that laugh about everything from excrement to beastiality. AGAIN IT IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. It intends to offend — but it also intends to explore the searing side of humor and pathos.

ABOUT THE ARISTOCRATS: Comedy veterans and co-creators Penn Jillette and Paul Provenza capitalize on their insider status and invite over 100 of their closest friends, (who  happen to be some of the biggest names in entertainment, from Robin  Williams, George Carlin, Whoopi Goldberg, Drew Carey to Gilbert Gottfried, Bob Saget,  Paul Reiser and Sarah Silverman,) to reminisce, analyze, deconstruct and  deliver their own versions of the world's dirtiest joke, an old burlesque  routine, too extreme to be performed in public, called "The Aristocrats". One of the smash hits of the 2005 Sundance Film Festival, this star-studded  comedy extravaganza, which celebrates the art of improvisation and the finest  (and most foul-mouthed) traditions of stand-up, is sure to stretch the limits of its audience, particularly for how loud and long they can laugh.

Yours in humor and with a third disclaimer, THIS IS NOT FOR EVERYONE.
