LET THE WOMEN VOTE by Louise Degn, professor of Communications at the University of Utah, features a wealth of historic photos, letters and journal excerpts, recording Utah women's struggle to obtain the vote, fifty years before the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution finally granted all women that right. Aug. 26 is the anniversary of the 19th Amendment's ratification. This film tells the amazing story of early Utah feminists, whose suffragist efforts, rhetoric, even songs were surprisingly radical. If you are a woman living in Utah and haven't seen this film, you should.

Louise Degn will introduce the film and answer questions, afterward. Video copies of the documentary film will be available for $20. Local women's groups will have flyers. Sponsored by Moonstone (moonstonefoundation@juno.com) and the SLC Film Center.
