HBO has become a powerhouse in independent programming and has strong hold in the documentary world. This year three of the five Academy nominated shorts were HBO films. We will be showing them on Wednesday.

MIGHTY TIMES: THE CHILDREN'S MARCH (40 minutes) — The children of Montgomery, Alabama fill the jails during Dr. King's hunger strike--today as adults they look back and remember.

SISTER ROSE'S PASSION (38 minutes) — Explores the story of Sister Rose Thering, a Dominican nun who has devoted her life to battling anti-Semitism within the Catholic Church. In addition to teaching and lecturing for over fifty years, her writings contributed to the drafting of "Nostra Aetate," the revolutionary document that changed the Church's position on Jews from negative to positive.

THE CHILDREN OF LENINGRADSKY (39 minutes) — The film is a shocking report of the tragic daily life of children living at the Moscow railway stations and garbage dumps.
